In April 2009, the NZICT Group delivered a submission to the New Zealand Government on their Broadband Investment Initiative.
Summary from Brett O’Riley, CEO:
I am pleased that we have been able to put together a forward thinking view of how New Zealand can capitalise on the proposed Broadband Infrastructure, and transform the country into a truly ICT literate and capable powerhouse.
Thank you to those NZICT Members and related organisations who provided input; and to the Establishment Board for their oversight and input in the process.
It is pleasing to see constructive input from the submissions from other major players in the process, and the acknowledgement of the importance of this infrastructure for New Zealand’s future.
The hard work truly begins now and we have a very active programme of meetings organised over the next two weeks, many of them in Wellington, to follow up on the themes and initiatives raised in our submission.
