The New Zealand Information & Communications Technology Group (NZICT Group) has been created to position Information Technology as the key ingredient to New Zealand’s development and competitiveness.  It promotes the industry’s growth by taking a leadership role on behalf of its Members and related Forums and Communities of Interest. This approach is about creating a cohesive industry and actively encouraging collaboration to grow the industry, but as importantly New Zealand’s productivity and economic growth.

NZICT Group represents the supply side of the industry: Software, Hardware, Services, Networks, Education and Training.

The NZICT Group was formed in December 2008 to give our industry the collective voice it needs.  Our foundation members include IBM, HP, Cisco, Gen-i, Vodafone, Ingram Micro and Microsoft.  But it’s not just about the big firms - NZICT includes many smaller businesses such as ACE Training, Plan B, Nextspace and Kinetics Group to ensure wide representation.

In the new economy, and especially in the current challenging financial conditions, ICT is critical to NZ’s future performance, driving both productivity and innovation.  We are one of a very small group of sectors that will empower the country to compete on the international stage.

Our industry helps companies connect to partners and markets globally from their offices in NZ.  Across the spectrum from education to commerce and public services, ICT provides the tools to unlock productivity.

NZICT speaks for our industry to government and business, and ensures that ICT assumes a position of importance as a platform technology for New Zealand’s future economic success.
